I still am amused to no end that Bill Lambeer (one of the biggest goons of the 80s Pistons team) played a Sleestak.
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I'm going to see State of Play tonight. The LA times article about there not being any more serious thoughtful dramas if this one didn't earn $$ pretty much guilt-ed me into it.

There was a story in the Sun today about how they based the journalists' fashions on reporters at the Sun. Kinda funny. (Also movie got very good review.)

I've been meaning to watch that since I saw Girl in the Cafe. I guess it will be hard to rent at the video store these days.
I've only read two reviews of the film, but they were pretty mixed.

I've been hearing pretty good things about the movie. The original is great, of course.
the only part of the cast i like is Rachel McAdams.
Not even Helen Mirren?
I walked in during screening last night and R McA was up on the screen and I remembered just how much I love her. I'm really looking forward to The Time Traveler's Wife. Screener reported that he really enjoyed the flick without my asking and he's not usually forthcoming with the opinions so I consider it a rave review.
