To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

He just didn't project any kind of power.

Yeah, I see what they were going for, but it all sort of fell apart when you're watching him kick Rorschach and Nite-Owl's ass. It didn't ring true, especially as they beefed Nite-Owl up a bit from the comic.

I've always felt that, in the land of comic-book tropes that Moore was originally playing with, Ozy was supposed to be the Doc Sampson type, the pulp hero who was impossibly good at everything. Dropping that (along with other things) seemed to mute the commentary.

I saw Speed Racer on Cinemax last night, and now I'm wondering if there is any film that could not be improved by having John Goodman wrestle a ninja.

Only films that feature John Goodman wrestling and eating a ninja.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Saw AdventureLand last night and really liked it. Funny and romantic with wonderfully complex and beleivable characters and relationships. And they really use the amusement park setting.

Also, any film set in the late '80s which opens with a Replacements song is on the right track.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I've heard good things about the movie, unexpectedly. I am intrigued since it looked kind of stupid.

We watched Quarrantine over the weekend, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. It was creepy, and the notion that all of this was being recorded by a news crew stuck in the situation really worked. And did I mention creepy? In fact, my only quibble with it is that the trailer blows the end of the movie.

Always Anti-fascist!

I don't know why I thought this, because I don't know Watchmen, but I was reading your descriptions and I thought: Lance White, the super-perfect hero PI played by unknown Tom Selleck on the Rockford Files. Lance is hot but chaste, the world owes him a favor cause he saved everybody's life and the cops love him...I love those episodes.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Not one, but two Easter Bunny movies are in the works. No eggsaggeration

Sony Animation is pre-emptively picking up Hip Hop, in which the Easter Bunny decides to retire and hides out as a pet with a suburban family, turning their lives upside down. The tone is being described as along the lines of Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Santa Clause.

At the same time, Illumination Entertainment purchased I Hop to act as its first live-action picture. In it, the Easter Bunny is hit by a car driven by a slacker. When the bunny can't hop because his leg is broken, the driver must train to take over the job and save Easter.

Jilli - any word on when the Clovis movie is coming out?

... no. I think we need to do a Clovis book, first, and the Devilbunny keeps muttering that there aren't enough cookies OR zombies in the book, and then he sulks.
