Angel: Connor, this is Spike and Illyria. Guys, this is Connor. Connor: Hi. umm...I like your outfit. Illyria: Your body warms. This one is lusting after me. Connor: Oh...no, I--I--it's just that it's the outfit. I guess I've had a thing for older women. Angel: They were supposed to fix that.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Which reminds me, I have an Oscar party Evite to respond to.

Was it the cioppino, or the tamales?

Yes. Among other things.

Just got back from seeing the live-action shorts. Not as fun as the animated shorts (although "Instead of Abracadabra" was very funny), but pretty darn good. I think if I were voting I might pick that, or "Miracle Fish."

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

The Road: man, what a hard movie to watch. Bleak, devestating, beautiful, hard. It was like the black version of Firefly with Reavers and surviving vs. living and I kept expecting the reavers to win, the fear was so palpable.

I wouldn't call it a good movie, but it was certainly an experience.

No, do you recommend it?

Because books.

Any thoughts on The Hurt Locker?

I thought Jeremy Renner's performance was fantastic, and the direction was as raw and gritty as it needed to be, but ... I think I was expecting something else. Like, a plot. It came off as a character study to me, which is fine, but like I said, not what I was expecting, I guess.

I didn't get the buzz over this one, Amy. As a character study I didn't care for it. Not that it wasn't well done, but in the end I was disgusted with the character.
