I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I didn't get the buzz over this one, Amy. As a character study I didn't care for it. Not that it wasn't well done, but in the end I was disgusted with the character.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I saw The Hurt Locker over the summer, so I don't remember a lot of specifics, but I do remember loving it. I think it's right to call it a character study, though it didn't feel like there was no plot, just that the plot was mostly about the experiences of these few guys.

I've never seen them before, but now I would do it again in a heart beat. Both programs were really good, with great audiences, and it's nice to have an opinion on these categories for once.

Our wings are not tired.

The new Polanski has gotten rave reviews. I have refused to see any Polanski movies since "Frantic" (it was after seeing that that I learned about the rape case - I had been wrongly informed of the circumstances previously).

Other people work on the movies, and I have nothing against them. Yet, I feel complicit in yuckiness by seeing his films.

ETA: Even if he had served the time he was sentenced, I would still feel yucky. The fugitive part is immaterial to the yuckiness.

And yet I know a lot of my favorite composers, artists, authors, etc were real assholes and it doesn't stop me from listening to their music or owning prints of their art or reading their books. Sigh.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

If you threw all of the perverts out of my music collection it'd look pretty sad.

Right? I just can't get around the Polanksi thing and I don't know why it feels different. It might be a reaction to all of the pro-Polanski shit that went down when he was arrested in Switzerland.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I have considered boycotting everyone who works with Polanski. I'm not sure if I'd feel different if he'd served his time.
