I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

Because books.

Oh, she's fantastic in that role.

That movie is also good for incredible house porn.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Hell, they're all amazing. I didn't even hate Ryan Phillipe

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

He has a date with a hot glass of milk.

Now I have an unbelievable girlcrush on Kelly McDonald.

She's so adorable in that movie.

I love that movie.

One of these days I'm going to watch Gosford Park and La Règle du Jeu on consecutive nights and do a seven-decade country-house compare and contrast. It's an exercise I've often thought about doing with my students.

What I love most about Gosford Park is Ryan Philippe's terrible Scottish accent... which turns out is supposed to be a terrible Scottish accent. Also Claudie Blakley's put-upon thirties wife.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Lots of love for that movie from me, too. One of the highest points of Altman's pretty great late period. And a double feature of Gosford Park and The Rules of The Game sounds fucking delightful, Fiona.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Kudos to whoever at TwoP wrote the copy for their Valentine's Day: Who's Slumming, Who's Not? feature. This line completely cracked me up:

It's as intrinsically Julia Roberts as unhinging one's jaw and laughing like Patrick Bateman in all movie trailers.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Ok. Saw Zombieland last night. IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME.

And I know someone here has the tagline of "FUCK THIS CLOWN!" and I can't remember who.

Taylor Lautner is now officially 18. It isn't illegal to ooooogle him. Though he is going to have to do a new photoshoot since all the ooooogle worthy pictures are from his jailbait years. And that just feels wrong.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yeah, I had him up on one of my sites for a week before I found out he was a mere child. Not sure how long it will take for there to be legal pics available.
