A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

From Paris With Love, I think.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I have not a clue. there were guns and explosions. I suddenly realized that possibly the reason why I always found JT silly was his hair that always makes me flash to "I just wanna dance".

See, I have no innate Travolta hate or anything; I'm tepid on Travolta. But the whole bald/beard thing on my TV with his face was like POW!ARGHH!lookaway!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Next 'Spider-Man' film will be a gritty, contemporary reboot of the franchise.

It's going to be contemporary! Because the previous Spidey movies took place in the OUGHTS.

It's going to be gritty! Because we all know that Spider-Man needs to be grittier. NO ONE WANTS TO SEE GRITTY SPIDER-MAN.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

On IO9 one of the commenters suggests that if they really want to get Peter Parker right they should cast McLovin.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Fnaargh! I have seen the Travolta trailer in question and it freaked me out. Though I would love to see JRM giving the ladies some loving, it's not enough.

Peter Parker is always drawn as cute. It's just the mean shallow people who can't see that he's a worthwhile handsome person. I can't see them going any other way.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

DH said Anton Yelchin's name has been tossed around for the new Peter Parker. He's not exactly gritty, but I could see him in the role.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

oh, he'd be a cutie.

I waffled between posting this here or in Tech - neurologist states obvious: some people get headaches from watching 3D.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm surprised that 3D movies sorta work for me, given my bad eye.

But it's weird. Stereoscopic vision isn't the only way to get a 3D perception. Sometimes if I look at something and my brain can't interpret the 3D-ness of it, I'll move my head from side to side so my good eye can see things shift position, which also creates a 3D effect. (There are animated .gifs that do this for you.) So while watching Avatar, I found myself moving my head from side to side during certain parts - of course, that doesn't work in a movie, as nothing shifts position when you do that. I had to consciously tell myself to keep my head still....
