The fact that the Jim Henson Creature Shop is doing the suit/animatronic work makes me feel about 100x better about this being made.
That, and I think Spike Jonez might just be the perfect choice for director.

I think Monsters vs. Aliens is a fun movie for kids but it's nothing special.
How does the 3-D compare to Coraline?
Animation-wise, it's not even close.
I thought the writing was really sharp and funny and the voice acting was incredibly strong across the board.
Given how much I normally hate Dreamworks animation, I was surprised at how much I liked this one. I'd see it again.
I forgot Monsters vs. Aliens was opening this weekend. Right on!

I've disagreed with Jess on movies she didn't like, but I don't think she's steered me wrong on movies she does (which would include Magnolia).
Though I haven't put this theory to THE APPLE test yet...
