Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I never got the impression that Kirk respected authority. He happened to agree with the Federation, but he did things his way. I doubt all that sexing was in the manual, for instance. I also saw him as more subversive than imperialistic. He wasn't trying to impose Federation rule wherever he went, just topple the incumbent ways of thinking.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Prime Directive? What Prime Directive?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Kirk's prime directive is his hammer. And by his hammer, he means...

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

And by his hammer, he means...

Is it cock? I'm going to guess cock. Kirk and his Hammer Cock. Now that's a children's title just begging to be written.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I thought that was what "prime directive" meant.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

No, the "prime directive" says that Kirk can't boink an alien female unless she has an even prime number of boobs.

unless she has an even prime number of boobs.

That's so limiting!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Why wasn't I invited to this party?!

Damn, that's my idea of a Halloween party. Though who thought it was a good idea to score an 80s horror movie party to Lou Christie's "Lightning Strikes"? It's kind of awesome since it's such a bizarre song but I can't imagine anybody but Tarantino doing it now.

It's an Australian horror movie from 1981 called Dead Kids (aka, Strange Behavior) and everybody's in a mid-sixties pop culture costume. So I Dream of Jeannie and Batman, and they're dancing to a weird sixties pop hit. The choreography is both awesome and cheesy and then everybody gets stabinated.
