You people are KILLING me.
I almost bought a t-shirt the other day that said "I like my men feisty, fanged, and furry", but I did not want to even vaguely appear to be supporting this whole ridiculousness.
Starting Tuesday (11/10) all Criterion Collection DVDs and Blu-ray are 50% off at Barnes and Noble shops and on-line. This offer is through the end of the year while supplies last.
oooOOOOOooooo...
I might have to pick up the Criterion of I Know Where I'm Going, even though I just burned a dvd of it from the TCM broadcast over the summer.
This trailer for Clash of the Titans almost made me choke. [link]
Genius tagline!
Also, given the one snippet of dialogue, I kind of expect Sam Jackson to turn up all, "I have had it with these motherfucking scorpions on this motherfucking peninsula!"
What...the hell?
I believe I will stick with the original, which I love quite a bit.
That trailer was awesome in an over the top way, but I have no interest in the movie, if that makes any sense.
It's missing Greased Harry Hamlin. Fuck scorpions. I want Greased Harry Hamlin!

I agree with John Cameron Mitchell (I mean WTF does a man have to do????), Buscemi and Johansson for
Ghost World,
In the Mood for Love
for Best Foreign Film, Uma for
Kill Bill,
and
WALL-E
for Best Picture (it was the best film of 08). I would also add Joseph Gordon-Levitt for
Mysterious Skin.
He broke me so hard in that movie.
ETA: Also agree with
Mulholland Drive
for Best Picture. Loved that movie!
Sasha Baron Cohen for Borat? Come on. Crack.
Children of Men didn't get any Oscar nominations. It should have at the least gotten a cinematography nod.
edit: that's Children, not City. Duh.
