This money, it is too much. You should have some small refund.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I agree with John Cameron Mitchell (I mean WTF does a man have to do????), Buscemi and Johansson for Ghost World, In the Mood for Love for Best Foreign Film, Uma for Kill Bill, and WALL-E for Best Picture (it was the best film of 08). I would also add Joseph Gordon-Levitt for Mysterious Skin. He broke me so hard in that movie.

ETA: Also agree with Mulholland Drive for Best Picture. Loved that movie!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sasha Baron Cohen for Borat? Come on. Crack.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Children of Men didn't get any Oscar nominations. It should have at the least gotten a cinematography nod.

edit: that's Children, not City. Duh.

Wasn't Children of Men up for something? I thought it did get a nod for Cinematography.

ETA: It got 3. Cinematography, Adapted Screenplay, and Editing.

Our wings are not tired.

I loved both City of God and Children of Men and I get those titles mixed up all of the time.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I have been mainlining movies what with the new gig.

2 I most def recommend-Pontypool & Allegro Non Troppo.

The first is a smart semi-zombie dark humor thing (I say semi-zombie, because they are not, in fact reanimated dead people, and I found it humorous though I can see where someone else might not)

The second is the anti-Fantasia and is going in my top 5.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Allegro Non Troppo

Love that!! I fear I can never watch it again, because the episode with the kitten broke me when I saw it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

2012 is 158 minutes long? Holy crap.

And Danny Glover plays the President? Do these people have no sense of irony?
