based on the previews Drag Me to Hell might be a good candidate if it's from a recent major release
Oooh, I could see that being the case.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I saw Drag Me to Hell and I can't picture that being in it.
I saw Hurt Locker last night. Beautifully directed and acted. Some of the dialogue was a little on-the-nose for me, but I could forgive that for the overall intensity of the film.

And SO well acted. Even the special guest stars were totally appropriate in their roles.
Thanks for all the ideas. It sounds like this is just "creepy thing of unknown orgin"
Ooh, I really really liked Julie and Julia. I had read mixed reviews of the "Julie" parts, but can't really analyze that, due to being pretty much Julie Powell myself. (Better job, no husband. I figure it evens out....) But the "Julia" parts were delightful! I heart Stanley Tucci, not to mention Meryl.
And then I was also pleased to see a preview with her in a love triangle with Alex Baldwin and Steve Martin. Go age appropriate partners!
Alex Baldwin
The lost Baldwin brother, or a relative of Adam's? :)
I saw CGI Joe today, and was surprised to discover that it was actually an entertaining popcorn flick. I went for the falling Eiffel Tower and Channing Tatum's pecs, but may go again for the thrill ride. Really the only things I didn't like were some unconvincing SFX in the final battle and Marlon Wayans.

Stupid typo! Why so close together, C and X? Why??
My Mom saw Julie and Julia today - thought it was great, much better than she expected from the reviews. Also some of things she had heard against it were plain out wrong. They definitely dealt with Julia having been in the OSS and her husband being a victim of the McCarthy era. Not a lot of screen time, cause not the main story they were telling but mentioned. And she thought every actor and actress did great jobs, but also that the writing was first rate too. It is definitely on my list to see.
