Alex Baldwin

The lost Baldwin brother, or a relative of Adam's? :)

I saw CGI Joe today, and was surprised to discover that it was actually an entertaining popcorn flick. I went for the falling Eiffel Tower and Channing Tatum's pecs, but may go again for the thrill ride. Really the only things I didn't like were some unconvincing SFX in the final battle and Marlon Wayans.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Stupid typo! Why so close together, C and X? Why??

My Mom saw Julie and Julia today - thought it was great, much better than she expected from the reviews. Also some of things she had heard against it were plain out wrong. They definitely dealt with Julia having been in the OSS and her husband being a victim of the McCarthy era. Not a lot of screen time, cause not the main story they were telling but mentioned. And she thought every actor and actress did great jobs, but also that the writing was first rate too. It is definitely on my list to see.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Has anyone heard the DVD commentary for Lars and the Real Girl? We just watched it on cable tonight and I think I might need to get the DVD. It's the kind of movie one should own, I think.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Speaking of Clive Owen, the official trailer for his new flick can be seen at this [link] It's directed by Scott Hicks and filmed in his--and my--home state of South Australia. Looks great.

Re Dark City; the Directors Cut dvd makes for a much more satisfying movie--though I did like the original cut anyway.

Oooh. I have this, but haven't seen it yet - must rectify that. I loved the original cut as is.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We took our niece to see G-Force over the weekend. Fun little film. The idea of guinea pigs as law enforcement agents works better than you'd expect it to on paper -- well enough that there might be another movie or two in the idea.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I watched The Day After Tomorrow on the plane last night. That is not a good movie, but I imagine mass global destruction is more satisfying on a larger screen.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."
