A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Just saw Moon and really enjoyed it. I'm wondering what the Buffista theories were for what the deal was about the woman Sam sees near the beginning. Was he simply beginning to go crazy? Or was it a bug (or a feature!) in his "programming"?

I think it was that clone starting to break down. I also think the woman he was seeing was the 15 year old Eve, wasn't it?

Though if it was his daughter, maybe it is a bug/feature of his programming, because otherwise where else would he have even seen her.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I saw Funny People tonight. I really enjoyed it, but I think it could have benefited from some more editing.

Moon:

The missus thought it was Eve as well, but I couldn't figure out how/why for the reason you say.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We saw it too, sj. I totally agree on the length, but I still ended up really liking it. Both Sandler and Rogen gave much better performances than I was expecting.

I agree, Scrappy. I'm glad I didn't know how much of the film focused on Sandler's character because I normally don't like him.

Always Anti-fascist!

I kind of do. I didn't really want to, because of "The Waterboy" and stuff like that. But he reminds me of my uncle, if my uncle were a Jewish comic in addition to being eight years older than me and the guy that used to babysit us. And then I loved "The Wedding Singer" and still can't stop myself from watching it.(And, actually, I'd fit into my family better if my uncle *was* a Jewish comic "Billy Idol gets it...why can't Glenn?" "When I wrote this, I was listening to The Cure a lot, so..."(I was the only one in the theater who laughed at that joke. a. Phoenix sucks. and 2. I still laugh, every time.)ETA: "Funny People" is, like, the first trailer since either "Juno" or The Devil wears Prada...before the Grenier Fixation, which in itself sounds like an indie crossed with a seventies disaster flick...am I right? Um, where was I going with this?) Right...it's been a long time since a trailer actually made me want to go to a movie as much as that one makes me want "Funny People". But Medellin made me cautious. Our wings are not tired.

I Netflixed one of my all-time favorite silly films--"Logan's Run" and watched it last night (along with "Gran Torino", which I still don't know what to make of...) and am now re-watching to hear the commentaries. I love this movie.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I think I have now seen the worst movie ever -- Monster-a-Go-Go. Astronaut returns from mission, but something's wrong -- he's a 10-foot radiation-spewing monster who kills people by getting too close.

With a title like Monster-a-Go-Go, I expected a fun little monster-from-outer-space flick. Not necessarily good, but at least entertainingly not-good.

No such luck. It's just bad. The script is bad. The acting is bad. The sound quality is bad. The lighting is bad. The plot resolution is bad. And not even in the fun way of, say, Plan 9.

The movie runs about 65 minutes. About 3 of those minutes involves a trucker helping a stranded motorist and not getting that she's trying to seduce him. So the monster can get into his truck, kill him, and make his way to Chicago.
