If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

At the theater today they had a preview for The Spirit, and every time The Octopus says "I have eight of everything," I snicker to myself and say, "Really? Eight? Of *every* thing? Going five up on Hell Comes to Frogtown ?"

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Were you in a second-run theatre or did someone forget to change out the trailers?

Sorry, yes, the dollar theatre. We went to see Twilight. And I kind of liked Twilight. I know this means my cinematic taste aren't very sophisticated, but I've always known that, to me, any movie can be improved with things blowing up. A chick flick is one in which the woman is using a weapon at some point in the proceedings.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

I liked Judge Dredd.

There. I said it.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I liked Judge Dredd.

Ouch. Send in the clones? Really?

Anyway, saw WATCHMEN. It was a lot of movie, and that's not necessarily a good thing. Bits of it keep rattling around in my head though, so that's a sign I need to contemplate more (or Moore).

I keep whiplashing between the too-on-the-nose or just-plain-too-much parts and the part where I said - huh, that's a pretty good choice there.

I will say the most personally distracting thing was that since I'd read a critic comparing the actor who played Veidt to Dana Carvey, I couldn't NOT see him that way, down to the "Hans und Franz" accent. By comparison, Jeffery Dean Morgan's resemblance to Robert Downey, Jr. didn't hurt at all, mostly because I think RD,J could have played the part pretty well too.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Watchmen tops box office with $55.7M

Watchmen debuted in first place over the March 6 weekend, taking in an estimated $55.7 million on approximately 7,500 screens at 3,611 theaters, BoxOfficeMojo reported.

Watchmen's opening was the biggest opening of 2009 so far, but fell a bit short of expectations and paled in comparison to Snyder's last film, 300, which set the March opening record, with $70.9 million on around 4,800 screens at 3,103 sites (which included $3.6 million at 62 IMAX venues).

Now that all the diehard fans have seen it, we'll see how fast it drops off.

Hmmm... parts of it have stuck in my brain. Maybe I'll see it again next weekend at a matinee....

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Big! Blue! Penis!

Yup, I saw Watchmen this afternoon. I was okay with the change in the ending, and I thought the acting, by and large, was okay to really good.

The music was really distracting. Not just Hallelujah; all the music. I don't think it was needed.

Opening credits were made entirely of win.

Oh, uh -- when Nite Owl hacked into Ozymandias's computer, did anyone notice the folder on the computer named "Boys"? I wondered if we were supposed to deduce something from that.

Did they use any Billie Holiday or dub music?
