Waiting to see Deadpool, and WTF why are there several small kids here? Honestly, people.
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I went to see it last night and saw several under-10-year children in the theater. Not enough facepalm in the world.
...and a new generation of Quentin Tarantino's is forged.
As the mom of a tween, I can see how that sort of thing happens. I have very gore-averse kids, but they seem like outliers to me. In our case, saying no was the right decision.
Finally saw Deadpool today. Really enjoyed it, though the comics nerd in me was taken out of the moment when Colossus was eating cereal in metal form. He's not going to armor up just to eat breakfast, people!
I thought Colossus was a mutant and that all the mutants belonged to another studio.
They belong to this studio. Fox. Dead pool is a fox property too. Part of the X-Men universe.
Marvel studios was not involved in dead pool.
I'm watching The Hobbit on tv right now. I didn't hate it when I first saw it, although I didn't think it was nearly as good as LotR. But as something in the background as I sip an elderflower old fashioned and read Cold Comfort Farm, it's not bad. Sort of like having aunts and uncles talking about something while I read a book. Comforting.
I'm willing to rewatch the first Hobbit, I haven't seen the third Hobbit.
I also saw Deadpool last night. I laughed a lot, but it didn't grab me. I think it wanted to be a darker Guardians of the Galaxy, but it didn't hit that mark for me. The minute I walked out of GotG, I wanted to see it again INSTANTLY. With Deadpool, I was happy to have seen it, but that's all.
