I watched The Jane Austen Book Club last night, and was struck by how Hugh Dancy's character in that was really the perfect man for me. Such a shame he was fictional.

Well, that was so very much a Guy Ritchie film.

I have to say I was really underwhelmed by Ant-Man. After everything I heard about it, I was expecting better. It was fine (and better than expected given the premise), but stacked against other summer movies, it is way down the list. Of course, it's still above Age of Ultron, but I'm officially tired of Marvel movies just being one big tease about the next thing to come.

The Man from UNCLE was a fun watch, but then it was basically a PG-13 live action Archer.

Hey. New board.

I am starting to think of the Marvel movies as a ridiculously high budget television series. As an episode, I though Ant man actually stood alone very well. Ifound its connections to the larger universe were small and really pretty subtle. Made me think of an episode like The Zeppo or something; clearly in the same universe as the Avengers but with different focus and energy.

The final teaser of course was a tease for later but that is the whole point of those tags.

Yeah, I felt like Ant-Man was an actual story, which is a lot of what I appreciated about it.
