I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I have a ticket for the double feature tonight, bought when I had no fixed schedule for my days. Now that I'm employed, with no leave saved up, I'll just see Age of Ultron, but that's a trade off that I'm pretty happy to make, to be honest.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Just to check: the Marvel thread isn't up yet, right? So this is where I say "Avengers, woo!!!"?

More coherent thoughts later. Gotta go to bed.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Tep, we must converse.

I deem it Iron Man 4, have some quibbles, and am weirdly into the Vision. And Wanda. Cue that fucking Lonely Island song. Also!!!!! SHEILD boy!!!!!!!!!!! But J WeeWee still can't write Steve for shit.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

How important is it to have seen Iron Man 3 or Winter soldier first?

Well, Winter Soldier for sure. Iron Man 3, probably, but CA:TWS at least once.

I feel at least 25 times helps. But that's probably overkill.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

FWIW, Winter Soldier is probably the best movie in the MCU so it's not going to be a plate of spinach to watch.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I didn't think it was that good, although it is eminently watchable. For my money the first Cap movie and The Avengersare better films, and Iron Man III and Guardians of the Galaxy are more fun to watch although I wouldn't necessarily say they're critically better.

I don't think the jokes in Avengers hold up on multiple viewings (esp. the "He's adopted" joke, that was never funny to m). Part of it may be the massive setup work the movie had to do, but I rewatch it in chunks, when I want to see a specific scene. Winter Soldier I more often watch the whole way through (when I'm not analyzing a fight scene for a fic).
