word, Winter Soldier is terrific.

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I didn't think it was that good, although it is eminently watchable. For my money the first Cap movie and The Avengersare better films, and Iron Man III and Guardians of the Galaxy are more fun to watch although I wouldn't necessarily say they're critically better.
I don't think the jokes in Avengers hold up on multiple viewings (esp. the "He's adopted" joke, that was never funny to m). Part of it may be the massive setup work the movie had to do, but I rewatch it in chunks, when I want to see a specific scene. Winter Soldier I more often watch the whole way through (when I'm not analyzing a fight scene for a fic).
My only problem with Winter Soldier was all the Steve/Bucky slash it spawned, as I am Steve/Tony4evah!!

I'm partial to the fics where they share.
IS this where I admit that I haven't seen Winter Soldier and never read the comics, but I like Steve/Bucky fic?
Mos def. While it's not my beautiful cake, I'm not going to snatch someone else's out of their hand. A lot of the Steve/Bucky out there is excellently written fic and their story is so star-crossed, which I think is a lot of the appeal, whether you're familiar with the movies/comics or not.
Going to the theater now.
I'm Steve/Tony4NEVAH (seriously, strongest NOTP since Angel/Cordy) and was just happy to finally have an influx of MCU fic I could actually read.
I mean, Sam! ::hearteyes::
That's a lot to digest. It will take me a while. So compressed. I'm looking forward to seeing the rumored extended DVD version.
The thing I'm most unhappy about is that the way he's written, there's no possibility of any MCU Hawkguy adaptation.
