"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

FYI: There was a color remake of On the Beach at some point.

There was?

I only know this because I saw the DVD at the library last week. A made-for-TV movie with Armand Assante, Rachel Ward and Bryan Brown.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I've really been wash bring to see it, but not quite enough to drive into DC

Um, what?

I'm assuming the "wash bring" was an autocorrect of "wishing".

Hey. New board.

We just saw Big Hero 6 on digital rental. I should have just said "marvel Disney animated movie ajoht robots" to myself before renting, and bought it instead. Definitely a movie I will be watching again with little Calvin. So fun!

It wasn't as good as the Lego Movie, but it was very good, and I am more likely to rewatch it due to the Disney style heart factor.

Another option for the mystery Philly movie is Lt. Robin Crusoe USN. And it's a Disney movie. Though I don't know how the deep red glowing pit or computers fit in. The show is over. I hope they announce the answer tomorrow.

There were more jokes in the Lego Movie, but more heart in Big Hero 6 (IMO). Lovely movie.

Hey. New board.

Absolutely true. But it wasn't as good at heart as Lego was at funny. Or maybe there is just more competition in the animated heart space. Big Hero 6 fell squarely in the Pixar competitive zone, and held up well but didn't crush it; it felt kind of like a Finding Nemo / Incredibles combo, which is very high praise as those are my two favorite Pixar movies, but it didn't exceed them. Lego was competing with... Shrek, I guess? Kind of the South Park movie but more kid friendly? Honestly, it felt like nothing I had seen and knocked being whatever it was out of the park.

But as I said, I will be buying BH6 on bluray because even slightly derivative (in a good way!) fun heart is infinitely rewatchable. And maybe Calvin will give me a break from Cars if we have it readily available.

SIGH. "Wanting" actually. Sometimes Swype just really gets nuts.

Of course, one of my friends almost always says "you bet" in chat, and his phone always tries to autocorrect it to "you bitch." He's warned everyone, but I think his phone is trying to get him divorced.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

We watched The Boxtrolls last night, and it was adorable! The character design was amazing, and Nick Frost and Richard Ayoade make wonderful henchmen who aren't sure they want to be evil.
