Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Matt, your whitefont kinda makes me want to see it! But I already saw Flatliners.
Flatliners was a far, far better movie.
I feel great about Nat/Bruce. Not sure how I feel about anything else, though.
I have mixed feelings about the whitefont. It depends on what they do with it.
I feel pretty good about the rest.
Joss appears to have finally got a grip on Steve's characterization, which is something he didn't really have before. He got the prize for Avenger Least Like His Solo Films, and Just Woke Up is Really a Fanwank for Slipshod Writing.
I officially CANNOT wait for this movie. I feel pretty good about the whitefont.
I assume that was Vision at the end of the trailer, yes? (Wait, do we need to whitefont what's in a trailer? Damn it, I miss ita again. Still. More.)
I have a problem with Spader's voice as Ultron, in that I think it's really wrong for me to be turned on by an evil robot's voice. But come on. It's James freaking Spader.
I am intrigued by the white-font, since theirs was my favourite dynamic in the first movie. I hope they don't go overboard with it though.
Mostly, I'm just happy the movie seems to have a lot of Bruce, since he's my favourite.
Steph, yes, that was Vision and whoa. I was not very happy with his inclusion, but since he's played by Paul Bettany I'm feeling better about it. (I don't think we have to whitefont what's in a trailer, but I don't know how common the knowledge of his casting is.) As I recall, Vision was a Spock-like character, and I of course like that. It was his color scheme I always thought was ugly.
I'm confused about the AIs, though. Does JARVIS become Ultron? Or Vision? Does JARVIS go away or just copy himself? I don't want JARVIS to go away! Maybe we're not supposed to know this yet.
I thought JARVIS becomes Vision, but I can't remember where I heard that, so maybe it's spoilery.
