Steph, yes, that was Vision and whoa. I was not very happy with his inclusion, but since he's played by
Paul Bettany
I'm feeling better about it. (I don't think we have to whitefont what's in a trailer, but I don't know how common the knowledge of his casting is.) As I recall, Vision was a Spock-like character, and I of course like that. It was his color scheme I always thought was ugly.
I'm confused about the
AIs, though. Does JARVIS become Ultron? Or Vision? Does JARVIS go away or just copy himself? I don't want JARVIS to go away!
Maybe we're not supposed to know this yet.
I thought
JARVIS becomes Vision,
but I can't remember where I heard that, so maybe it's spoilery.
I'm unspoiled, but once you know the casting, I think it follows.
Hardly any Hawkeye in this one, interestingly enough. We had some Clint in the previous trailers, I think?
But without
JARVIS, who'll help Tony run his suits?
I am cautiously excited for the movie. There looks like more Hulk/Bruce, and more Nat being a badass (motorcycle run!), and more Hawkeye, and that's all good. But I hate the idea of the
Civil War storyline, and it's hard to see how they can do that without making me angry and sad.
Also, in the comics,
Quicksilver was boring, and I never liked the characterization of Wanda.
And are they just not gonna mention that they're
Magneto's kids
?
Zenkitty, re: your last question; that has already been retconned away in the comics.
See, regarding
Vision,
I just want to see how much
Vision/Wanda we get. For the LOLs.
I can totally see how they could do
Civil War, and is that even a spoiler as they've announced Cap3 is CA:CW? in a way that makes sense with the overall themes they've been hitting in the MCU, and again, especially if it turns out that the Winter Soldier was behind Howard's death, and that plus the Ultron aftermath is what triggers the whole thing.
I feel like last night's episode of SHIELD (which really just made me want more Peggy Carter, because MAN, does SHIELD ever suffer in comparison) sowed some seeds of
Civil War,
with
Simmons suddenly taking a hardline stance on superpowers bad! Nuke them from orbit; it's the only way to be sure!
(I get that
her reaction is driven partly by her grief over Trip, but I still think it's going to be folded into Civil War.)
Non-Avenger-y -- I didn't realize that Ian McKellen was playing Sherlock Holmes: [link]
I need to read more comics because I don't recognize the new character names being mentioned here.
