Marvel has cast Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.
Not quite. He's purportedly in final negotiations, which is what they said about Joaquin Phoenix.

I tend to agree. Kudos to BC for making his money while he can, and he's got a terrific voice, but the pictured of Oded were even yummier than BC.
Steph: The Helmet of Nabu made a brief appearance in the Constantine pilot, so it could happen.
I think I had read that on io9's spoilers. That would be cool. (Constantine is something I'm going to have to binge-watch later, because we already watch too much [for us].)

I'm slightly miffed at the trailer for Revenge of the Green Dragon for using a cover of House of the Rising Sun. The lyrics seem appropriate, but the fact that the repeated nickname for Japan was used to advertise a movie about Chinese characters stood out. Did they think "appropriate lyrics and vaguely referencing Asian peoples" was brilliant and acceptable?

So very much. The wailing and gnashing of teeth flooded my dash for most of yesterday evening, with the, "Wait, not quite" posts coming in just as I was heading to bed.
I think BC would do well in the role, but I really don't need him in every franchise I watch. Oded Fehr was on my short list, too.
Or, you know, a Captain Marvel movie instead. (BC could play Chewie.)
