I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I agree, they did a great job with the trailers.

Thrive to spite them

I liked other things but that's what stuck out at me at the first. Also the music/soundtrack was really well done.

At the beignning I was like "oh I know what's going to happen!! And then Quill starts dancing and strutting towards the orb and the whole theatr laughed. I wish there was more backstory for the other characters, like Rocket and Nebula but there was so much conveyed. The look on Karen Gillam's face when Thanos called Gamora his favorite daughter said a lot. I wish I knew more...oh man and now I'm thinking about Nebula and Loki meeting and wondering how that would go. Also the line about how she hated Gamora least of all. I wanted a whole Nebula movie. I don't really want her redeemed I just want to know her story.

And Rocket when he's drunk and goes off about being taken part and put back together again and again. The look on Quill's face (and I guess the others, i'm blanking on the reaction shots). Again, I want a Rocket Racoon movie and how he meets Groot. Groot!! Seriously I'm wondering if Groot is going to be different growing up or regenrating or whatever he is doing with the influence of Quill and the others. I'm not saying this was the BEST MOVIE EVAH! but I wanted more time in the world and to explore. There just wasn't enough time.

We saw GotG, too, and I pretty much agree with: AWESOME. The movie was such so freaking much FUN. And I cannot get over how much it reminded me of Farscape, in all the best ways.

I loves me some Groot, HARD, but I think Drax might be my favorite.

And I need to get the soundtrack. Or the songs I don't already have (which is about half, I think).

That was my first strong reaction - the soundtrack was so good and so cleverly used.

I didn't realize Lee Pace was Ronan until I was reading back through the posts here. He was pretty good.

Someone put up the playlist on Spotify, you just have to search for Guardians of the Galaxy.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett saw the credits and turned to me, "The Piemaker is Ronan?!"

"The Piemaker is Ronan?!"

That's almost verbatim what I said to Tim.

And -- did everyone catch the semen joke? (The black light/Jackson Pollock line on Quill's ship, after Gamora said the ship was filthy.) I am endlessly amused they slipped that one in.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yep. Though I'm a tiny bit skeptical that info about that artist would have made enough of an impression on gradeschool-age Peter that he'd be making joking references after 26 years of no contact with Earth culture.
