And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

Okay, Edge of Tomorrow was all I ask of a summer movie: things went boom, asses were kicked, and Emily Blunt really was a BAMF.

Was there a post-credits scene? The people we were with wanted to leave, so we acquiesced.

Agents of SHIELD has ruined me for Bill Paxton, because I just wanted to yell "Don't trust him!" and also "Hail Hydra!" when he was onscreen.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

My son really wants to see "How To Train Your Dragon 2" but I've heard there's a traumatic scene early on. I managed to find out what the scene is, but without any context. (Major spoiler) Toothless kills Hiccup's father. Which out of context gives me a serious "WTF? Why would anyone want to see this movie?" Has anyone seen it that can explain a bit and give a general idea of trauma-level?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Kalshane,

(Major spoiler) There's an alpha dragon that basically can control the other dragons. Toothless is obeying him and tries to kill Hiccup, and Stoic takes the bullet for him.

Let me know if you need more info.

Thank you, Dana. That helps. Not sure if he's ready for that yet or not. He hasn't even seen Bambi yet and this sounds far more traumatic.

I think it is clear (at least by the end) that it's not Toothless' fault, and Hiccup doesn't blame him, but no lie, it's pretty sad.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Watched Enough Said, the James Gandolfini/Julia Louis-Dreyfus movie last night. It seems like it would have been really hard to promote effectively even if Gandolfini hadn't died before it came out, but I quite liked it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Kalshane, I took Matilda to see it and she's pretty sensitive to such stuff. And she understood that Toothless was under control of the Alpha Dragon. Which is also explicitly stated by another character.

We really enjoyed the movie.

I thought it was a great combination of the sweetness and "realness" of a new relationship.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The kids I was with weren't affected by that scene, other than one of them being annoyed at how different the movies are from the books.

Oh, one thing I forgot about Edge of Tomorrow: I would love to see a movie of nothing but Rita and Mako Mori kicking all kinds of ass.
