Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ooo, I want to see it!

Our local art house theater says it's coming soon. No date, though, so I have to keep checking back.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I will be seeing it this week. From what I've heard Swinton/Hiddleston are by far the most stylish vampires since Bowie/Deneauve (sp?).

Not so violent though.

I figure I know a Jarmusch movie and if it's vampire movie the way he did, say a western, or a prison break movie, I know exactly what I'm getting, which I love.

Your whitefont is correct. Which is one of my teeny quibbles with the film, just because I like my vampires to be bloodthirsty. I would have like to have seen Swinton/Hiddleston devour someone. I also would have liked Olde Timey Flashbacks, because seeing those two in historical costumes while being vampires would have been PERFECT.

Exactly. It's gorgeous.

IRGT your whitefont comments, Jilli, that's actually what I expected one of your only quibbles to be, based on reviews.

On your other quibble I think those kind of flashbacks are very much not the thing Jarmusch would do. It's just not his nature. Heh.

Yeah, I know it's not really something Jarmusch does, so it's not like I was expecting it, more like nurturing a mild hope.

Also, I desperately need crossover fic of this with the opening of The Hunger. John and Miriam cross paths with Adam and Eve, icy stares and pointed banter happen.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Man, Amazing Spider-Man 2 tried to cram WAY too much plotty stuff into one movie. That said, I liked it overall. If you go in accepting that Harry Osborne and Electro are going to chew the scenery like crazy, you can just sit back and go with it. I still really like Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, although I don't think anyone is supposed to accept that he's 19.

Also, I've been reading Spider-Man since I was 5, so even though I was unspoiled, I knew Gwen Stacy was going to die, because that's what happens to Gwen Stacy. Damn it.

And on the way home, Tim got to learn the phrase "Women in Refrigerators."

Oh, and this is only relevant to people who also watch Arrow, but (whitefonted for Spider-Man) Peter Parker is really giving Ollie competition in the "walking bag of pain" competition. Frankly, Batman needs to shut his whiny mouth.
