We are at the theater. We were going to try to see Veronica Mars today, but it is only playing in Boston now. So, we are seeing Captain America 2. I can't wait to read the whitefont.

Thrive to spite them

WINTER SOLDIER! I saw it today in 3D It was awesome. Will asked me my favorite parts and I named half the freaking movie.

I think one of the biggest reactions came when Danny Pudi showed up. I swear to god I wasnn't the only one who blurted out ABED! I swear.

Unfortunately I had to go to the bathroom really bad and kept waiting for a good time and finally ran out during the escape scene when they are taken to Fury. I kinda guessed Fury was not dead. But I came back in time for that reveal.

Some questions I had were where did Sam get his wings in the big car chase/shoot out prior to them being taken prisoner (when we get the Winter Soldier is Bucky reveal) because I thought it was in the trashed car. Also in the end scene when HYDRA guys were saying Natasha didn't get all the stuff, was that the same guy that was taking care of Fury? I couldn't tell.

There was a little kid sitting behind me and the action with WS got a little intense because when he was on the runway thing taking out all the innocent guys the little kid started making distressed sounds but his dad soothed him. Speaking of Winter Solider I swear I was waiting for "are you ready for your treatment" when he started remembering. And then they gave him the mouth guard and he took it and just..well...took the pain and it was heartbreaking and horrible and Cap has to find him.. And comfort him.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Just got back from seeing CA2. Wow. That was a good time.

Apparently I had a theater full of non-comic-savy/non-spoiled people, because there was an audible gasp when the Winter Soldier lost his mask.

Also, I have no idea how Agents of SHIELD continues under that title after this.

Did anyone else catch the Easter Egg on Fury's tombstone ?

There was discussion on another site about where the name "Winter Solider" came from, and one of the origins was this: [link]

Which makes the title of the movie work on multiple levels.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Did anyone else catch the Easter Egg

All I noticed was the Path of the Righteous Man inscription (or something like that - I am so spoiled by DVRs, I kept wanting to rewind the movie real quick so I could check something out but that doesn't work at the theater...)

That was pretty much it, -t.

Specifically it said "The path of the righteous man." -Ezekiel 25:17 which considering it was the tombstone of Samuel L. Jackson's character was a nice touch.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Holy shit! That was not at all the movie I thought I would be seeing, but it was fabulous.

Is it just me, or were you mildly disappointed when
Jenny Agutter's character pulled off the mask? I wanted Jenny Agutter to have been kicking that much ass.

Not just you, Epic, but I was still pleased that there was quite a few scenes where women kicked ass.

And I can't wait to see what happens to the TV show now.
Can it even still be called "Agents of SHIELD"? Because...that's not exactly true anymore, right?

Teppy, that is the first thing I said to TCG when the movie ended.

Finally, I've read comments elsewhere that the movie CLEARLY established that
Dr. Zola is the Clairvoyant on the TV show. I'm torn about that idea, mostly because I still want the Clairvoyant to be someone we already know on the show -- either Hand or Garrett.

Huh. That didn't even occur to me, though it makes sense. I would rather it be someone from the show too.

Well played, Marvel.

Yes, to everything you just posted, Teppy.

Apparently there was!

Thanks, P-C. I totally missed that part. There was a loud 4 year old sitting behind us.

Now, someone please explain to me the just before the credits scene. Specifically, who are the twins?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

sj, the mid-credits scene was directed by Joss and is a setup for Avengers: Age of Ultron. The Hydra guy is Baron Strucker, and the twins are Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, who will also be in X-Men: Days of Future Past because they're mutants (Magneto's children). Here, it looks like they've been given their powers through experimentation with Asgardian magic.

Unrelatedly, I love the fact that Cap's catch-up list is different in different countries, as shown here.

WAIT A SECOND the whole "Hydra has infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D." thing is what Dark Reign was about? I wonder if they'll do H.A.M.M.E.R. Although they don't have Norman Osborn, so I can't really say how. I love how Marvel is adapting all their canon in such a way that it draws from the comics but is still surprising because they're telling the stories differently.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thank you, P-C! I was watching it saying to myself, I have no idea what is going on, but I know it is important.
