My favorite line from that review is "Aronofsky is pretty close to being a great director who's never actually made a great film." It's so true!

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

It's just a fan poster, not a real project. Which I'm actually glad about, because while I think HBC could be a great Mary Poppins with the right director, I don't entirely trust Tim to BE that director. And please, no more Burton/Depp collaborations for a while.
But damn, it would be pretty. Full of eye candy just for MEEEEEE.

Frankly, no more Depp for a while, period. And I've about 5 actresses I'd cast as Poppins before HBC (though she could do a good job, true).
Speaking of Depp, I would love to know who thought his Whitey Bulger movie was a better bet than the Affleck/Damon one. [link]
Who would be your first choice to play Poppins? (And who would be your first choice to direct? Who should write the script?

There's a part of me that would LOVE to see Tilda Swinton as Mary Poppins, but other than her, I don't have any specific favorites. Guillermo del Toro should be the one to direct, and possibly the one to write the script.
I'd see that movie.

I believe that this may be the best idea I have encountered all week.
Yes please!
Jilli is in charge of assigning movie directors and actors from now on.
