So Hubs recorded Almighty Thor and decided we'd watch it over the weekend. Got through about 20 minutes so far. It has nothing to do with the current crop of Avengers movies. Or competent movie-making, for that matter.

It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. I just started using this grapefruit face wash, and it smells 90% like grapefruit but 10% disgusting, and all I can think of is Jennifer Lawrence's character from American Hustle and her topcoat.

ha! Love!
My dear lord she was amazing in that movie. I loved every performance in that movie, but hers was winner.
This is apparently my year for praising Jennifer Lawrence.
Speaking of Jennifer Lawrence, I finally saw Catching Fire. Definitely better than the first movie. I was sad Amanda Plummer got such a swift end, though it fits with how it played in the novel.
Jena Malone was FUCKING FIERCE though. Wow.
We saw the National Theatre Frankenstein tonight, with Jonny Lee Miller as the Creature. He is ASTONISHING. Dear god.
I totally forgot about Shrift's warning about the rapey-ness until it actually happened. I wasn't traumatized or anything; my actual reaction was "WHAT??? ...wait, I think Shrift warned me about this. Damn it."
Really, all I can say about the production is that Miller left me gobsmacked. I already really liked him from Elementary, and he's did some really outstanding work in S1, but he blew me away in Frankenstein.
He is ASTONISHING.
Doing that performance every night must have been EXHAUSTING. He just poured his soul into it. Miller's Creature gave me chills.
Doing that performance every night must have been EXHAUSTING.
And physically torturous. He must have had a chiropractor and massage therapist on call through the entire run.
Is this the one where he and Cumberbatch switched off roles?
Yes -- the reverse casting is playing next Sunday. I don't know if we'll go, because tickets are $20 each and I am a cheap freelancer. Plus, I loved this casting so much I'm not sure I want to see the reverse.
