You know what they say about payback? Well I'm the bitch.

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I normally don't have Jillifont issues and I wish I'd kept my eyes closed.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

It's about as bad as it gets, Jilli.

Movie needed MOAR SMAUG.

Because, well, dragons!

Paul, being fonder of the actual source texts than I am (the writing style is not my thing), would have preferred more Beorn.

We both made the o.0 at the barrels.

Unlike me, he didn't watch the stupid animated Hobbit movie a million zillion times (I have The Greatest Adventure stuck in my head now, AGAIN, and I don't care if it's awful and dumb and whatever, I STILL AM FOND), so that limited my ability to have the deep discussion about differences in adaptations. Though it was amusing to outline the climactic differences in the animated movie vs. the book as we speculated about Hobbit 3.

Apparently, I have a deeper fondness for The Hobbit than I do for the rest of the Middle Earth stuff, though, so I've actually liked these movies more.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Jilli,

I'm not an arachnophobe and those scenes nearly put me under the chair. Do not open your eyes even once.

Nothing good will come of it.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Uh oh. I better warn my kids.

So Franny has decided that taking a few friends to see The Hobbit will suffice for the lack of birthday party this year. Isaac is possibly on board as well.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I wanted more Beorn too. He's important, damnit.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt will direct and star in Sandman.

I have....very mixed feelings about this. I would love to believe it can be pulled off.

Huh. OK. I'll be interested in seeing that. I kinda figured it was destined for Tim Burton, but I've certainly enjoyed other things JGL has done.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I saw that Sandman news yesterday, and was...kind of perplexed.

I thought the barrel scene in The Hobbit was hilarious.

Looks like they issued a correction for that article, JGL will produce, not direct.
