Wash: You want a slinky dress? I can buy you a slinky dress. Captain, can I have money for a slinky dress? Jayne: I'll chip in. Zoe: I can hurt you.

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Agreed on how bad an idea the Rosemary's Baby remake idea is, despite the director's bona fides. That was about a perfect movie with perfect casting. Not just Mia, but I can't imagine anyone in place of Cassavettes or Ruth Gordon doing as well.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Matt,

I posted that in Premium! I cannot believe Damian Lewis said that shit.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Translation: Bitch, it is ON!

Oh that is just awesome. And It's nice to hear from Sir Ian himself that I'm not alone in having problems turning off the vocal effects. Once you've been trained how to speak properly from the stage it is difficult to stop.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

We're watching Man of Steel. This is the stupidest portrayal of Jonathan Kent I've ever seen. It literally makes no sense.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Girl, the movie gets worse. So bad. But there are people here who liked it so I will pipe down.

I think it had the potential to be a really interesting different movie. Unfortunately, it's not the movie they made.

They're currently destroying downtown Smallville. There's just so much random stuff.

Who decided that Kryptonians don't have a system of morality? Why is the evil woman lecturing Clark about evolution when the Kryptonians took evolution out of the picture entirely? If Zod and company were only in the Phantom Zone until Krypton was destroyed, that was, what, about twelve hours?

Now they're terraforming Metropolis, which also makes no sense dramatically, because this Superman has NO connection with Metropolis. It's just where the Daily Planet happens to be.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Didn't see it; it's not my Superman.
