What was wrong with Dead Man? I LOVED that movie.
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
SWINTON AS A VAMPIRE YES YES YES.
Still side-eyeing Hiddleston's wig, though.
I really liked Dead Man too.

Of all the hairstyling choices for vampires, eternal dreadlocks is my least favorite.

Eh, her hair doesn't look fake. HIddleston's screams bad cosplay wig, and I make that comparison having seen many dubious angles of Loki's hair.
No, I have not read his account (at least I don't think I did). I don't have a problem with it being co-written or even a biography. Malcolm X's was, for example. And probably most of the autobiographies written have been, just not identified as such.
Yeah, it's just so frequently used as a way to discredit the narrative that I thought I'd bring it up preemptively.
Is it wrong that I'm watching Temple of Doom and rooting for them to hurry up and lower Kate Capshaw into the lava faster?
We took the kids to an early screening of Frozen yesterday, and today they've spent the entire morning reenacting the movie for us. HIGHLY recommended for all ages.
It should come with a warning that this IS one of those Disney movies where the parents randomly die in the first ten minutes, but my kids didn't seem too traumatized by that part.
The weakest part of the movie is the music (unfortunate, with Idina Menzel in the title role!) but the funny parts are very funny (I was worried about the snowman, but he turns out to be completely adorable; the trolls, fortunately, are only in two scenes) and the serious parts made me cry. Without spoiling too much, it does a very nice job of turning the standard Disney Princess narrative around on itself and kicking it in the pants. And the animation of the ice magic itself is GORGEOUS.
Some interesting marketing of Thor: The Dark World in China: [link]
