Robert Redford is 77.
I'm not bagging on his aging process. Except maybe to wonder what dark magics he used to halt his aging process until about 10-15 years ago. Him and Dick Clark, I tell you what.

Seriously.
Was Redford a surprise? This wasn't something they'd already announced, right? I haven't been following the news too closely, but I feel like I would have heard about it before.
I'm so weirdly excited about this because I've been watching a lot of his old movies lately. Butch Cassidy, Condor, The Sting.
I didn't realize Redford was in it. Of course, my focus is mostly on Winter Soldier (I'm wondering if it's okay to use his real name, given that it's based on comics that already exist, or if it's spoilery) and Natasha.
I'd say if someone is only watching the movies and doesn't know who Winter Soldier is, it'd be nice to preserve that mystery for them. If they don't happen to have it spoiled in any of a number of other venues.
I'm pretty sure that when the title of the movie was announced, I made a huge fuss and already spoiled people about the character. I hope they forgot.
Just from watching that trailer, if I didn't already know who Winter Soldier was, I would have assumed it meant Cap, what with all the difficult moral decisions he's clearly having to make. I wouldn't have connected "the Winter Soldier" with "the guy in the mask" at all.
Anyone who follows the comics or reads fic using comic canon was spoiled.
Yeah, but I bet a lot of moviegoers haven't read the comics at all. I'm sure a ton of viewers jumped onto the Avengers-verse from seeing Avengers, and have no comics background/knowledge at all (and probably don't want it).

Edit: I mean, I didn't start with the Avengers, but I have basically no interest in comics.
