"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'm having a far harder time envisioning him in any of the Matrix movies.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Imagining Connery as either Gandalf or Morpheus makes me laugh out loud. That voice... "You schhall not passchh!"

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

At least with Morpheus I wouldn't have had preconceived notions that would make a thick Scottish burr hysterical; Gandalf pretty much had to be a storied British actor for the voice, even if they hadn't been able to achieve the Platonic ideal of casting Ian McKellen.

Well, Gandalf was "Another" that Tolkein never quite defined even in the appendices. So Scottish burr I have less problems with than Sean Connery knowing Kung Fu.

Into the Woods movie casting. I'm on record as thinking Rob Marshall shouldn't be allowed to direct movies anymore, so I don't have high hopes for this, but Chris Pine as Cinderella's Prince is pretty great.

Because books.

You didn't like Chicago? (I can't remember any other movies he's made, so that's my point of reference.)

HATED it. So so much. Really not looking forward to him botching another one of my favorite stage shows.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I liked Chicago. However, I am concerned about the crappy track record of Sondheim musicals turned into movies, some of the casting choices (JOHNNY DEPP), and some of the story choices (Cinderella's Prince IS the wolf, that's the ENTIRE FUCKING POINT).

But some of the other casting looks promising. So.
