No idea if the movie will be any good, but I think this is a lovely trailer.

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I'm not even sure where to put this trailer because it pings so many of our collective interests.
I give you, Peter Dinklage, Summer Glau, Ryan Kwantan, Danny Pudi, Josh Malina, Steve Zahn and, oh so many others in Knights of Badassdom.
Seriously, it's like they have been reading our mail.
I am not a fan of either Scream parodies or horror, in general, but this movie I will see.
Just, well, because...LARPing! And it's like a cool home movie that a bunch of my old friends made on a lark.
also a point in its favor is it is a comedy, but not a spoof, with some of the horror played straight. Which may (no guarantees) mean slightly less desperation for laughs on the writers part.
Is that movie finally coming out? I first saw the trailer at least a year ago, and last I heard, it was delayed indefinitely.
I'm pretty sure my mail mentions more female characters with speaking roles and fewer succubi. But then, I don't talk about LARPing either, so their algorithm probably rules me right out.
Interesting. I'm finding a surprisingly large number of people who didn't notice Gary was wearing a hospital ID band in that late shot in World's End.
it was a quick shot. it wasn't so much the band, but that both wrists were bandaged. Which I noticed specifically.
But I think it was a lot the hospital/institution band-- because that is what told me that the bandages were very important, and not to be misread.
I've found one person so far who missed the former, and thought (therefore?) the latter were to conceal track marks.
I think the institution information drives home that they signal self-inflicted harm.
I agree, ita. I thought they were hard to miss.
ita, for someone who has been using drugs/alcohol for as long as Gary was supposed to, he wouldn't need his wrists for track marks. He'd be using between his toes, etc. It never crossed my mind that he was trying to conceal track marks. You wouldn't need bandages to do anyway. His coat was doing that well enough.
