Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But I think it was a lot the hospital/institution band-- because that is what told me that the bandages were very important, and not to be misread.

I've found one person so far who missed the former, and thought (therefore?) the latter were to conceal track marks.

I think the institution information drives home that they signal self-inflicted harm.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I agree, ita. I thought they were hard to miss.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

ita, for someone who has been using drugs/alcohol for as long as Gary was supposed to, he wouldn't need his wrists for track marks. He'd be using between his toes, etc. It never crossed my mind that he was trying to conceal track marks. You wouldn't need bandages to do anyway. His coat was doing that well enough.

It wasn't *me* that thought that. Just pointing out the direction that people who didn't notice everything can go down, and at least one did. Not everyone is expert in IV drug addiction or suicide attempts, as they pointed out.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I wasn't arguing with you! Just responding. note: I am not even close to being an expert in addiction or suicide attempts. I'm not sure I'm even reasonably informed. Just noting that even if you only noticed the bandages on the wrist (at that late stage in the movie), it is out of character for Gary to give a fuck if his friends know he has been using drugs.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Wouldn't he be likely to get more donations if he started a kickstarter promising NOT to make a movie if it reached his goal?

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

My first reaction to the cutie in Kingdom of Badassness being Jason Stackhouse was correct! And Steven Zahn looks, like, 15 years younger with the flop hair. And Summer looks amazing with light brown hair. And I heart Peter Dinklage forever and ever. And while LARPing isn't my thing, it's in several of my fandoms, and I love the idea of it being foisted on the masses. And I've at least visited renfaires where it appears to be a paying job, if not a hobby for the [un]average bear.
