Beg to differ; Matilda wasn't traumatized by it in the least. Here was her description after her first viewing, at 4-ish:
"Did you know about the bully and the unicorn? He pushed them all into the water, but then they escaped away! I think if we push the bully into the water, and poke a hole in him, and take out all his blood, and then cut off his horn, and then cut off the horns on his head, and then cut his head off, then we could EAT HIM."
This was forwarded to Beagle himself, who said that she's welcome to write the summaries for everything he ever writes forever after.
eta: The subtle sadness of Molly Grue will probably be lost on her for a good few years to come.
I mostly remember that the visuals were beautiful(of course, I had a Harmonyesque Unicorn obsession at that time) and it wasn't what I expected)
If you like movies about garage bands, you need to see "Not Fade Away"
Ben Affleck is the new Batman.
From Daredevil to Batman. Makes sense...except that no one really liked him as Daredevil.
WHAT.
Oh no. No no no no no no no.
That might be exactly what shrift said. Verbatim.
I saw this on twitter and my response was: oh no no no no
I don't even care about Batman and even I am horrified. WTF are they thinking??
Hey, if he directs it, it could still be good.
I am with Vonnie. I just made a WTF face. Jennifer Garner would have been a better choice.

SERIOUSLY.
I like Ben Affleck quite a bit in the right role, but HOLY GOD NO. Zach Snyder directing Ben Affleck as Batman? Let me just preemptively gauge my eyes out, thanks.
