Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Apollo 13 was a damn fine movie.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Apollo 13 was a damn fine movie.

I was going to say, he's done some good work (see also Night Shift, Splash). And I don't think he's fallen as far as, say, Rob Reiner has in his last several movies. But DAMN, Ron.

Yeah, I did like Apollo 13. And Splash, but I haven't seen that since I was 13.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Frost/Nixon was very good, IMO.

Frank, maybe there's something to your theory. or maybe it's bunnies...is there a Life in Hell script anywhere?

Ann, that's a ferret.

I remember Splash as a fine, sweet fairy tale. Cocoon, too.

I think Howard developed what I think of as Tom Hanks Syndrome. Someone with a talent for entertainment decides to Get Serious. And Stays Serious long after he should stop.

Why can't comedy get respect?

Erika, that's the $64 question. Entertaining people is a perfectly valuable skill. But the Hollywood Powers That Be can't see that.

Kate Winslet has a nice sense of comedy too, but she just made "The Reader" which looks like the cinematic equivalent of brussels sprouts. But if I say I'd rather watch "The Holiday" again, I look shallow.

mmm brussel sprouts - especially roasted with olive oil, garlic and black pepper. Which I guess really does not say anything about "The Reader".
