Gah. People are really hitting spoilers for the end of the Hobbit hard on tumblr right now, and major sadface. Like, I know one song by Ke&ha, and it's Die Young so naturally it's accompanied by pictures of FIli and Kili.

Nothing too surprising among the lot. I guess they decided to champion Beasts of the Southern Wild over Moonrise Kingdom as the token indie.
I did think it was surprising that Zero Dark Thirty got nominated for Picture, for Screenplay, for Editing, and for Actress--but not for Directing. Gee, I wonder why.

Really? EW seemed to think Bigelow was a lock for that nom. I haven't seen it, but it seems like the kind of movie that would be.
Cereal to add that Argo also didn't get a directing nod, which I find surprising. That's a movie that I really loved that I think hinged almost entirely on direction.

Yes. Best picture can go up to 10 now, but the other categories are still 5 (or can be less in some categories).
