K=Bug and I saw ParaNorman today also, though not in 3-D. I agree with the balance of your comments.
For all the kids in the audience, it was a group of adults behind us that kept talking, even after being asked to shhhhushhh multiple times by different people. Grrrrrrr. All the kids were appropriately behaved...little squeaks and whispers but nothing disruptive.
They seem to have left out some important information.
The only information of import in that movie is that Sam Elliot will be speaking at some point.
(laughing)
You aren't wrong. Sam Elliot is a wonderful presence in almost every movie. It's like a different movie when he was on screen.
I own
Ghost Rider,
but I confess I bought it for the segment where Sam and Nick are riding along with "Ghost Riders in the Sky" playing. That sort of thing appeals to me. The big musical numbers are why I bought
The Mask.
It is a shame that at no point in the movie or the comic does the Ghost Rider actually herd the Devil's cattle.
It's also really BORING. How can a movie about a FLAMING SKELETON ON A MOTORCYCLE be boring?
Skulduggery Pleasant movie now, PLZ.
t edit
I mean, REALLY. If Ghost Rider can get made -- and get a fucking sequel -- I can get a Skulduggery Pleasant movie.
Kicking evil very hard in the face.
Basically, if you don't like bicycle chases, there isn't that much other than that.
Yeah, I loved it purely as a NYC cyclist - half of the movie was shot along my commuting route. Every time they flashed back to explain some part of the plot I was annoyed that they'd cut away from the cycling.
(I had to watch a lot of the bike chases from behind my fingers because I am the most chickenshit bike commuter in the known universe. I am *terrified* of getting doored, I ride in the bike lanes only, and I obey all the traffic signals.)
did you know Morgan Freeman and John Cusak were in a movie together?
Did you also know this movie is not very good?
I saw the Avengers Saturday afternoon. There were probably 10 others in the theater with me. There didn't seem to be many people going to other movies either, though.
This was the first time I heard Loki's pitiful whine afte getting pounded into the floor by the Hulk, though. At previous viewings the audience laugh for, "Puny god," totally drowned it out.
I finally saw TDKR yesterday. I liked it but I think it needs a second viewing to keep it all straight. There were so many people to keep track of.
One of my favorite things was Commissioner Gordon: Action Hero on the truck with the bomb! He really earned his stripes on that one!
I did not know Marion Coutillard was in the film, so I kept trying to figure out why she was there in the same movie with Catwoman. I'm going to have to go back and watch the first one, because I seem to have not absorbed the whole Liam Neeson subplot very well. I only saw it on TV and that may be part of the problem.
I wasn't fond of the the 2nd film. I was let down about Ledger's Joker from the hype and thought Maggie Gyllenahall was miscast. But, that was just me.
