I felt like seeing a good scary movie tonight. Unfortunately, I saw The Apparition instead. The premise I'd heard in trailers was interesting (sort of like a modern-day version of Gothic), but that was apparently abandoned and recut between the time the trailers were made and the movie's actual debut.
It's beautifully shot, and the actors turn in good enough performances. But the story is incoherent.

Yeah, Premium Rush was actually a lot better than I expected. I figured JGL would be great, and he was, but the plot and some of the secondary characters weren't bad either.
