Wesley: Hey. Hey, Gunn. Is something weird going on? … Charles, you just peed on my shoes. Gunn: I'll be damned. That's weird.

Art Crawl!!!

Me too.

The sound at my viewing was also turned up to 11 and made the dialogue difficult to hear.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I assumed it was the old one, too. (Tim's comment was "I sure hope Batman sealed up the entrance to the cave from the manor, because otherwise, some orphan living there is going to find it within 12 hours." Because I am dense, I asked, "Wait...why?" And he said, "Don't you have a brother? Was he known for NOT exploring places that were off-limits to him?" Fair point.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Totally did not occur to me that it was the old one. Seems I was alone in that. The latitude indicated wasn't very high, though. Seemed a little warm for the snow we saw.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Fascinating!

Though kind of a bummer that so many of the places were still intact into the 2000s then razed by Giuliani, or some ambitious land-grab development that turned something cool into nothing at all.

So, some of tumblr is excited by an entry in wikipedia that spoils the Marvel movieverse and tells them that Son of Coul is alive. WIKIPEDIA. Why bother? Like, wait, and get excited later.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I know, right?

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I was talking Verbs with my 23 y/o seasonal and she's just adorable. When I clarified that it was Christian Bale who starred as Batman, she remarked how it was funny how a big role like Batman could suddenly launch an actor into the limelight. I've only got a decade on her, but I felt like I was 60 when I had to remark that Christian Bale had made a name for himself decades ago. Maybe it's not a generational thing so much as someone who doesn't dig movies that much? I thought it was bad when I had to explain who The Goonies were.

I'm terribly pleased with my volunteers and interns this year. They're mostly Firefly/Buffy fans and wear geeky t-shirts to movies. The last place I worked I was mocked endlessly about Firefly. Now I think I've arrived. Everyone's favourite colour is orange and they dig Captain Tightpants. If I was paid a living wage I'd be in Heaven.

Watching Verbs, I couldn't believe in some moments that I was watching Tom Hardy. He was like four times bigger than in Warrior! And yet, the speed with which he wailed on Batman near the end was incredible. God, he made me cry at the end, and then I laughed inappropriately as his head was blasted off his body.

Apparently not. She mentioned Drew Barrymore as a comparison. I was heartened that at least she'd seen E.T., but disgruntled at the comparison.

For a while, when going over tool safety with the kids at work, I'd bring up The Goonies and the rake as for why you don't put the tines up. After the third group that looked at me blankly, I gave up and cried in a quiet corner.
