It was...totally eighties. And Christopher Lambert's silly made-up accent was annoying. And the villain was ridiculously over-the-top. And the mythology was poorly explained and didn't make a lot of sense. It was not that great a movie and didn't really stand out among all the other cheesy eighties fantasy movies.
You've just described my reaction to Labyrinth.
Ah ha ha! I was just introduced to the term Spock-blocked, which describes what happened to Kirk in the movie.
And this was termed Spockkake.
You've just described my reaction to Labyrinth.
Ha!! I haven't seen that movie in years, but I'm pretty sure I liked it.
Labyrinth,
Legend,
Willow,
Krull,
those are cheesy eighties fantasy movies I loved. Although I have not seen them since I was in the eighties (or possibly nineties), so I don't know whether I'd have the
Highlander
reaction to them now.
(Did all cheesy eighties fantasy movies have one-word titles? Damn.)
For the record, I love (and own)
Highlander.
Everyone I know who likes Highlander are big stoners.
Well, now you know one who's not.
Well, now you know one who's not.
Two.
In fact, I own 3, count them, Three, Highlander movies and several seasons of the tv series.
Don't hate me.
In fact, I own 3, count them, Three, Highlander movies
Unpossible, as there was only ONE movie.
Firmly living in denial of anything related to a so-called "quickening".
