Gris, I started with Deep Space Nine, without seeing any TOS or TNG and loved it to bits. It's meaty and complicated with awesome political arcs and shades of gray up the wazoo. I still haven't watched more than a handful of the original series or TNG (but strangely enough, caught up on Voyager) and it remains one of my all-time favourite TV series.
Star Trek the movie: LOVE
Hot Fuzz: AWESOME, but not quite at the level of Shaun of the Dead IMO
Ant-Man: have no opinion
Black Widow: have ALL THE FEELS! I honestly don't care that much about ScarJo's action!fu or lack thereof (I've watched SMG play an action heroine for 7 years after all), but boy, did that character ever hit all my buttons. I don't know too much about BW's comics backstory, but I hope they'll find a way to give her a substantial part in the Winter Soldier storyline.
I guess that's context for you--SMG could probably take SJ down. At least in terms of flexing and shit. I mean, she was pretty crap still at the end of it all, and there was never a stunt double remotely her size but at least she didn't have to deal with firearms so there wasn't any "recoil? what's equal and opposite reaction?" going on, as well as squinting without actual sighting. SJ's wrists were held better in the ring, tho.

I was skimming, but this caused me to do a double take.
The best thing about Ant Man was when Belushi got to mock him in the SNL skit.
ITA.
Maybe I should say it's the only thing I've ever seen about Ant Man.
Okay, so--In Time just started. I'm having an issue with the premise that something so incredibly valuable is so easily taken (and given). It's making the ecosystem not work for me, right at the beginning of the movie. The very premise is broken.
I mean, yes, anyone could take my life from me as easily as these people have their lives taken from them, but they can't add onto their lives as easily--the transfer bit's what's not possible--society would be even more fucked up than what they are showing so far. How could there be any shred of stability? I mean, the 1% would pretty quickly be the 100% because they'd be the only ones left.
Is there an assumption (or clarification) that the process is more stable at higher echelons of society than Timberlake moves at?
Edgar Wright is directing Ant Man, & co-wrote the script. Simon Pegg doesn't have anything to do with it. I mean, it's not impossible he'll turn up in it somewhere, but at this point his involvement consists of being pals with the guy making it.

Oh! Well, hell, that changes everything. Except me not wanting to see Ant-Man, unfortunately.
not meaning to be sarcastic, BTW. Totally serious.
RDJ is two years younger than me. This just spins my world off its axis. How is it possible than I'm older than Iron Man?
Just finished reading up on Ant-Man and Wasp because I was only familiar with them from the current cartoon (and the first run of The Ultimates, which I hated) and WTF is wrong with the Marvel Ultimate Universe?
I mean, seriously, outside of the Ultimate Spider-man comic(which I loved) it seems like they're just trying to be as horrific as possible. Ultimate X-Men started out really good, but then they turned Nightcrawler into a psychopath and Colossus into a drug addict, and I was done. And since when does The Blob
eat people
? I mean, what the hell?

I'm older than the President. That was a kick in the butt.
