You two carried me through that war. Now I need you to carry me just a little bit further. If you can.

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I haven't been watching trailers, really, but the ad/preview/whatever for Amazing Spiderman during Eureka looks really good. This is a pretty serious summer of the superhero, eh? Avengers, Batman Verbs, Amazing Spiderman, that's a lot of tentpoles.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

F - Tony (he'd be good for a brief fling, but there's only so much smugness I can take)
C - Hulk (who wants to be around someone that's always simmering with repressed anger?)
M - Thor (you marry into royalty, get a kickass mother-in-law, and have you seen him shirtless?)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This is all pretty simple, because I'm running away with Captain America, to give him the 21st century crash course. I sense a man ripe for...indoctrination.

Also, I've seen him shirtless.

Unrelatedly, I had a bit of a hard time accepting Hemsworth as Thor, because it seemed entirely obvious that Johann should have the role (oddly, he agreed). But despite the most biased sort of false start, there's really not much to complain about. He did a great job.

Problem is, I need to go see the latest Resident Evil movie to catch up with what Johann's doing. I have been somewhat remiss, what with the whole 2012 thing, and all.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

F Thor. I've seen him shirtless, too.

M Bruce and Tony, for a nice three-way relationship that will never lack for coffee, booze, or broadband. Seriously, I just want to snuggle down with both of them and have them talk science at me for ~40 years. Nekkid.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Lots of discussion of outfits in The Avengers can be found here.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Jesse, thanks, that was an excellent discussion! And evidently she's going to cover Loki, as well.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Loving those costume posts.

Yeah, she's got a ton of great costume posts. I love reading this kind of meta, because I don't tend to notice the costuming as much myself. (Although I did notice Tony's weird jacket/blazer thing.)

Inception was a great movie for costuming discussion. Mmm.
