I am approximately 28 times more excited about the Amazing Spider-Man than I ever was any of the Raimi movies, that's for sure. The backstory sounds cool, I like mechanical web shooters, Emma Stone is more my speed than Kirsten Dunst, and I agree that quippiness rocks. Sign me up.

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
This talk about rom-coms is making me wish for a remake of "When Harry Met Sally...." with Jack Black and Kate Winslet. (Yes, I really like The Holiday)
Sophia,
no Jack Black!
NO.
I am with le n. I would have liked that movie much better without him.
I Love Jack Black. Granted, I have only seen him in School of Rock, The Holiday, and singing with Will Farrell at the Oscars.
I can only tolerate him when he's voicing an anthropomorphic panda.
I am SO ready for tomorrow night to get here! [link]
I feel that Jack Black is a cuddly Steve Buscemi. Who I also love.
Sophia,
I feel like I don't even KNOW you.
No! Jack Black is all earnestness and raw enthusiasm, and Steve Buscemi is cynical and mellow and vaguely amused.
I do love Jack Black in School of Rock, though.
Well, I mostly said the Steve Buscemi thing for laughs because I have had to much wine... But I do find Jack Black very charming because of his earnestness. And for some reason (probably wine) I now want to compare Jack Black's weird eyebrow expressions to Damon Salvatore's on Vampire Diaries!
