I vote for BEST weekend. I get an extra paycheck that's not committed to rent or monthly bills, have a date with a cute artist/comics geek that I reconnected with after losing touch last summer (he has since decided that he's definitely bi rather than merely curious), our first real date will be going to see the Avengers on opening night, and then it's Free Comic Book Day, a Cinco De Mayo festival in the park, and a free concert downtown.
ETA: Just got back from The Pirates! Band of Misfits, which was both hilarious and visually stunning. It's the best use of 3-D I've seen since Coraline, and I would highly recommend spending the extra couple of bucks to view it that way.
Ooh, nice to know Aardman is using the technology in a good way.
Kids React to the Avengers Trailer. So adorable and hilarious. Warning: darnedest things said.
That was hilarious. My favorite comment though was "Wasn't that a TV show?"
Bless.
I'll have to watch that when I get home, but speaking of kids and the Avengers trailers, they had one as an ad on the Xbox yesterday when I was playing games with Mattias and he stopped on it to watch. Since it caught his interest, I decided he'd really enjoy seeing it full size. So I pulled up the movie trailers page.
Yeah, 20 minutes of watching all the trailers over and over before I finally convinced him to stop by pulling up the Avengers cartoon on Netflix.
It's a shame the movie itself is probably way too intense for him right now.
His favorite part from all the trailers was the Hulk catching Iron Man.

Yeah, that's my fave too.
Oh, and the Stark snark.
Tim said he thought it would be entertaining to take me for drinks before going to see The Avengers. I told him if he means getting kicked out of the theater is entertaining, then okay!
Him: Why would you get kicked out?
Me: Have you MET me? I would be yelling, "Thor, take your shirt off! TAKE YOUR SHIIIIIIRT OFF!!!" and "Kiss him! Damn it, Tony, Steve wants you to KISSSS HIMMMMMM!!!!"
I once came close to getting kicked out of a movie because I was giggling hysterically throughout ... and I wasn't the least bit drunk.
I dunno Teppy. Hearing you shout that might be worth getting kicked out of the theater for. But I'd want to see the movie too. Maybe modify an old Viking tradition. One showing the movie sober, another showing of the movie drunk.
But I'd want to see the movie too.
Therein lies the problem. I think yelling at the screen will have to wait until the DVD comes out.
