Some choice lines from advance reviews of
The Avengers
(97% on RT):
The dialogue sparkles as brightly as the special effects; these people may be wearing ridiculous costumes but they're well fleshed-out underneath. And so in every regard, this movie truly fulfills its hype.
Like a superior, state-of-the-art model built from reconstituted parts, Joss Whedon's buoyant, witty and robustly entertaining superhero smash-up is escapism of a sophisticated order.
Josh Whedon has pulled together an action movie of real wit, fun and spectacle, with some remarkable setpieces for a director not previously noted for visual flair.
Wildly entertaining yet brilliantly cohesive, wonderfully characterised, deftly humorous and packed with heart, this is an absolute winner.
The Avengers is one of the greatest superhero films ever made. It's smart, fast, unrelenting fun. An instant, nuanced classic.
Apparently, bootleg copies of Transformers 3 made it to Asgard.
Great reviews. One question. In trailers, why is Thor described as a
Demigod? I thought he was a God - no "demi" about it or. (OK and really an alien .., but still if not a God a "God". I did read some playing around with the idea that he was just a super-mutant with delusions of godhead. But then totally not a God and still no "demi".
Oh my god I CANNOT WAIT for The Avengers.
Oh my god I CANNOT WAIT for The Avengers.
You will wait. Stay! Wait!
Nooooooooo!!!
Why do you and Hollywood HATE me? You're not the bosses of me!
You're not the bosses of me!
But you are not the boss of space and time! So you will wait.
It debuts tomorrow in Australia, so if you can manage to be the boss of space (or frequent flyer miles), time isn't a necessity.
Upcoming Pixar movies! Looks like the next one is
Monsters University,
which sounds like a
Monsters, Inc.
prequel. And then there's
The Good Dinosaur,
which is about what would happen if dinosaurs never went extinct. And then there's some sort of
Pixar Does Psychonauts
thing, and a
Dia de los Muertos
movie.
