I'll get right on that, bon, once the personality transplant has had a chance to settle in.

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I adored Bridemaids and the cop is FANTASTIC.
Yeah, Emmett and I snuck in to see 21 Jump Street after watching John Carter. Jump Street was very funny, and Tatum was well cast/used.
She's the Man and his SNL hosting gig did convince me he either has some comedic talent or a personality that approximates the possession of same. Whatever it is vanishes into the mist when a role calls for dramatic chops, however.
21 Jump St looks entirely not my sort of comedy, and I don't believe I'll die any the less well-rounded for not having seen it, so I'm pretty okay with skipping it.
If he's good at that sort of comedy, he isn't good at anything I enjoy yet, so he's going to have to cry himself to sleep yet one more night.
I'm reading Development Hell, and it's an interesting book, and I do feel for screenwriters. Well, it kind of makes you feel for everyone, even yourself--as Hec mentioned upthread, it's a fucking miracle anything gets made, much less anything anyone enjoys or lauds.
I'm in the middle of the Total Recall chapter right now, and I took a break to read the entry on Wikipedia to refresh my memory, and I hadn't realised it had that much critical acclaim. I thought people liked it because it was cheesy, not because it was good.
Full disclosure: I don't really like it, and I certainly am not bothered by a remake. I'll totally go see that. But did you guys *like* it? Did you respect it in the morning, or was there a walk of shame involved?
I love it. It's twisty and exciting and fun. And there's this alien with three boobs for some reason.
I could not fucking stand that movie when I saw it in theaters. The ending was the cherry on the sundae - absolutely awful.
Okay--liking it is not the right question. I did you guys think it was good?
I have a hard time taking most of Arnold's roles seriously, though. Give him a Terminator, and it's fine, until he starts having to show signs of emotion...but everything else I've actually sat through--he was really unenjoyable, and the scripts and costars, etc, just couldn't make up for the sucking vacuum (no reference intended) that is his presence.
Saw 21 Jump Street tonight, laughed a billion times. Recommended! Also, Channing Tatum, quite funny! ita, you will love it!!!
I had to check the datestamp to make sure this wasn't an April Fool's (haven't seen it myself, just didn't expect that much enthusiasm about it).
Never seen Total Recall.
