Oh, there's a great kyudojo in Indianapolis, too. We were going to study that, visited and everything, and then got distracted. Funny, I hadn't thought about that in years.
Anyway! I'm going out to shoot right now! Whoo!
Buffy ,'Same Time, Same Place'
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Ha! IO9 is full of "There's a Norse god and a green giant, and this bothers you???" comments.
Yes, yes, it can? Isn't the world lovely?
but the attention to detail reminds me of Ratatouille and how cooks were pointing out that everyone in the kitchen had scars and burns on their hands.
I know somebody at Pixar and his wife was complaining bitterly that the animators and their families who worked on Ratatouille not only went to Paris, but they took extensive cooking classes there.
Unfortunately, her husband worked on Cars instead so she got to go see lots of NASCAR.
She's a caterer.
I didn't think I was going to get to see Hunger Games with a new baby, but it turns out March 23rd, opening day, is the first day we're putting him in daycare, as a dry run for the next week when Meg returns to work. We're going to see it in Imax at noon. We probably would have skipped the Imax but A) all of the non-Imax were sold out, but apparently people made the same mistake we did and didn't realize they're listed in different places on Fandango so the Imax's aren't and B) reserved seating rocks.
Fun times.
I totally didn't click twice.
Dark Shadows trailer: [link]
Hmmm. I expected a fair amount of camp, but that's ... a LOT of camp. Dammit, Tim, this was supposed to be creepy and gothic, not constant 70s camp. I hope it's just the tone of the trailer, and not the movie.
Dear Hammer Studios, now that you've made The Woman In Black, make a vampire movie like that. Please?

No, that's a comedy, Jilli. There's no way that's just the trailer.

They do still have a window of time in which they could make a vampire movie and cast Christopher Lee in it.
Oh, dear. I'm so sorry, Jilli. So now Hollywood has decided that camp can't just ruin comic book movies, it has to ruin horror too?
It seems like a combination of Love at First Bite and The Addams Family, or something. Really not what I expected.
