From the previews I have the feeling it would be much improved if it turned out to be the Cloverfield sequel and all the kids featured end up being stepped on, eaten, or exploded after they're bitten by monster lice.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
that's what I thought happened from the previews until last week when I saw an extended ad.
When's Much Ado About Nothing coming out?
Tomorrow, yes?
I just watched the Jonathan Ross with Tom Hardy on (man, he must be an unpredictable interview), and he describes seeing Christian Bale for the first time. He (Tom) was pumped, and thinking he could totally take him.
Then he gets kitted out as Bane, and Batman walks on set--"10 feet tall and 8 feet wide" and he thought, no, he didn't know how he could do it after all. He joked he thought he was getting the TV Batman in the grey tights, and him, him he could take.
Given how much ass he kicked so effortlessly in The Warrior, that was pretty nice of him to say.
I finally saw Hugo today at our local second run theater. What an amazing film! I think it may end up being one of my first blu-ray purchases when we finally get our player hooked up.
Was that in 3D? Because Hugo is hands down the best use of 3D I've ever seen. Well beyond Avatar or any of the animated movies I've seen in 3D.
I get the feeling that Scorsese has been dying to make a 3D movie since he saw the ones he saw when he was a kid.
I'm catching up on the superhero movies before The Avengers comes out, so I'm watching Thor right now, and I have to say: did they do something to his eyes in post? Because, DUDE. So blue.
did they do something to his eyes in post? Because, DUDE. So blue.
Both his and Chris Evan's eyes in Captain America (though I think Chris' were contacts) go up to 11 on the blue scale. None more blue.
I doubt they made Chris wear contacts to make his eyes bluer than they already are, though I suppose they may have brightened his irises up in post. [link]
I assumed it's an artifact of the "everything is orange and blue" color correction that so many movies do.
I didn't think Captain America did that though - I remember it as using a full but slightly muted palette, to give things that kind of old-timey feel.
